Hello, and thanks for reading my blog!
Did you take time to observe the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation on Saturday?
I took part in the walk to Maht-Mahs on Tseshaht First Nation for a second year. It was heart warming to see so many people out observing the day – as you can see from the above photos I took.
If you didn’t walk – I hope you tuned in and caught part of A Day to Listen on 93.3 The Peak on Saturday. I was proud of the radio station for having so much important content on air, on what I believe to be a very important day.
I was also impressed with both the Alberni Valley Bulldogs and the Port Alberni Bombers for their participation in the Truth and Reconciliation walk for a second straight year.
Perhaps other teams in other leagues in other parts of the Province and country took part in the walk – like I think they should.
I just think it’s one thing to make posts on social media stating you “stand behind a cause” so to speak and actually standing UP and walking WITH other people hand-in-hand.
To walk, as they did, and then downplay it? Well, that tells me they are doing it for the right reasons! Well done!
