Arrowview Hotel owner Ray Latourneau has 30 days to tear the building down.
Latourneau tried repeatedly to change city council’s mind last night, interupting them at various points of the debate.
Mayor Mike Ruttan said council were clear in voting unanimously to declare the building a nuisance and a hazard.
Ruttan estimates the cost of demolishing the old wooden framed hotel will be around $200,000, and if the owner doesn’t complete the work within 30 days, the city will take control of the project and put the bill on his taxes.
