A Sproat Lake developer says he’s disappointed but undeterred in his efforts to expand the Klehkoot Marina.
Craig Casavant says the opposition to his proposal has little to do with water quality or boat traffic concerns, but is rather a fear of change from some residents.
He said while his $8-million marina expansion project is stalled, other illegal wharves continue to pop up around the lake, and his gas pump remains the only regulated and insured fueling station on the lake.
Casavant said this was the second time his project had come before the ACRD Board of Directors, and they supported an expanded upland development with 20 homes, and he believes it’s only a matter of time before the full marina expansion gets approved.
