A 40-year old Port Alberni man was sentenced to 3 months time-served in jail after being charged with a series of thefts.
Kenneth Receveur admitted to stealing a boat motor after breaking into the Conservation Officer Service compound last winter, which police easily recovered by following tracks in the snow.
He unsuccessfully tried to steal metal cable from Cokely Wire Rope but he was unable to cut through it, but ruined a $5000 spool in the process.
Receveur said he was embarrased by his crimes and said it’s not who he is or who he wants to be.
He’s now under strict probation conditions for a year.
