Week 2 of the Samantha Dittmer murder trial began yesterday with testimony from a blood spatter expert.
Sgt. Thomas Watts from E Division RCMP Headquarters in Vancouver said he analysed 619 photos from the scene as well as the autopsy report to determine where the shooter was in relation to the victim.
He closely examined blood patterns on walls and the bullet lodged in a kitchen cabinet to determine the path of the shot.
His testimony assists Crown Counsel in their assertion that the 61-year old Dittmer shot and killed her 37-year old son at point blank range on August 29th, 2021 in the kitchen of their 18th Ave home off Argyle.
The Supreme Court juried trial is scheduled to last for another month.
