The 39th annual Port Alberni Toy Run was a continued success with tens of thousands of dollars in cash and toys donated.
1100 motorcycles rumbled though town on Saturday, with riders from as far away as Alberta and Yukon.
The event was marred however by a rider seriously injured after a vehicle allegedly turned in front of a motorcycle on 10th Avenue, sending the rider to hospital in Victoria.
Last week it was announced the Vancouver Toy Run had been cancelled due to escalating costs, making the Port Alberni event the biggest motorcycle Toy Run in the province.
