The trial of Samantha Dittmer began yesterday in Port Alberni BC Supreme Court.
The 61-year old is charged with second degree murder in the shooting of her 37-year old son on August 29th, 2021 in their upper Argyle area home.
Jury selection took up most of the morning yesterday, with the Crown laying out it’s case in the afternoon.
More than a dozen witnesses will be called over the next 5 weeks, with pathologist Dr. Elizabeth Brooks-Lim being the first to testify today.
