Fire burns above Angel Rock

The forest fire burning above Angel Rock on the Cameron Bluffs has grown to 20 hectares.
Coastal Fire Centre Information Officer Kimberly Kelly says winds pushed the fire up the bluffs overnight.
“There was some growth overnight due to the high winds,” she said. “Crews were actioning the fire overnight. There are currently three initial attack crews and two helicopters actioning the fire. We are staffing resources based on the fire’s behaviour.”
“Highway traffic is not expected to be impacted but drivers should be advised that there are fire operations occuring in the area,” said Kelly.
The fire was initially spotted shortly before midnight Saturday night, and two initial attack crews were dispatched early Sunday morning.
The fire is under investigation but suspected to be human caused.
