A 26-year old Port Alberni man will be under house arrest for the next two months after stealing scrap metal from the back of Canadian Tire.
Raven Leblanc was spotted by staff climbing into the compound and throwing multiple items back over the fence.
Leblanc pled guilty saying he was on drugs at the time and was stealing scrap metal to sell so he could buy food for his dog.
Judge Ron Lamperson said it was a very difficult case because Leblanc has a significant record of similar charges.
He was given a 120-day community sentence order of which the first half is house arrest, and has to abstain from using drugs.
