MP Gord Johns to fight ‘Greedflation’

Courtenay – Alberni MP Gord Johns says corporate greed-flation is pushing prices through the roof.
Speaking at the local NDP Constituency Association AGM at the Port Alberni Friendship Centre on Sunday, he said increasing price of gas, groceries, bank fees, and mobile phone charges led the NDP to push for a doubling of the GST rebate, which should be landing in bank accounts soon.
“People will see this week the doubling of the GST Rebate in their accounts – that’s just one of the things that New Democrats have fought for,” he said. “The dental care plan that passed in the House of Commons on Thursday, will hopefully pass through the Senate this week, so children under 12 can get the dental carer that they need.”
Johns said their agreement with the governing Liberals have allowed the NDP to affect government policies more than any 4th party has been able to do before.
He said his party will now begin pushing the Trudeau Liberals to remove the GST on gas and home heating oil.
