After drawing criticism for questions asked at a recent all-candidates meeting, Alberni Valley Chamber of Commerce Manager Bill Collette has taken a leave-of-absence.
According to a statement from the Chamber, the events had an impact on his health, and affected his ability to manage his personal health challenges.
Collette was accused of asking questions intended to embarrass mayoral candidate Tom Verbrugge.
He later apologized.
Elliot Drew will take over as Manager until Collette’s return.
