The City of Port Alberni will observe the national holiday on Monday, to mark the day of mourning for the funeral of Queen
Elizabeth II.
Mayor Sharie Minions said “The Queen’s passing will mean different things to different people, and in a time when we are
reconciling the wrongs of our past, the death of a Monarch takes on added meaning for many.”
Services offered by the City will be affected include city hall, echo centre, the pool, and public works.
Garbage collection will also be delayed by a day next week.
