14-year old Justin McKay will have quite the tale to tell his classmates about his summer holidays when he returns to school tomorrow.
The grade 9 student at ADSS became the youngest person to win the Port Alberni Labour Day Salmon Derby in its more than 50 year history
“It’s just crazy, honestly,” he said. “The youngest ever? In 52 years? That’s crazy. I just can’t believe it.”
His 27 lb chinook netted him the $10,000 top prize, and he plans to add a dirtbike to his shopping list of back-to-school supplies
