Mobile shower facilities will be set up in Dry Creek Park starting this week for homeless people in need.
The 3-stall mobile shower trailer was recently brought to town on loan from the Salvation Army in Victoria, and Captain Michael Ramsay says it will be a big benefit here.
“If you don’t have access to showers it makes it very difficult for you to take steps forward in your life if you’re going to secure a job, be a part of the public, and for various health reasons,” he said.
Ramsay says the showers will initially be available 3 days a week for a couple hours a day, and will be staffed and supervised.
People will also be offered a fresh change of clothes from the Salvation Army thrift store for after their showers.
