No one was injured in an early morning fire at the notorious RV area on 4th Avenue on Saturday.
A passing police patrol spotted the blaze and called it in according to Fire Chief Mike Owen.
“We were fortunate that the RCMP officer was patrolling in that area at that time and was able to notify us quickly which then allowed our duty crew to get down there expeditiously and aggressively tackle the fire to prevent it from spreading both to additional adjacent occupied recreational vehicles down there as well as the main apartment building that was also very close to the primary trailer that was involved,” he said.
The fire destroyed one trailer and heavily damaged a neighbouring RV.
No one was inside either of the trailers at the time.
The fire is still under investigation but is not considered suspicious.
