The city hosted an open house on Wednesday to discuss the Quay-to-Quay Path Project and its proposed route.
Upwards of 100 people wandered past the drawings, maps and plans at Echo Centre.
Deputy City Clerk Sara Darling said the overwhelming negativity surrounding the project in online forums was not necessarily reflected at the meeting.
“I have to say, I was anticipating that because I know there is some negativity around that,” she said. “Overall, it was very positive. Of course there was a few negative comments. People came forward with a lot of great thoughts, and we were happy to have everybody’s opinion.”
Darling said the city has hosted 2 pop-up events, and this was the first formal open house for the Quay-to-Quay project.
The online survey will close later today, and a report will be presented at a second open house on November 3rd.
