Cloud City is a Vancouver Island brand and local outlet store in Port Alberni.
They were nominated as an Amplify Port Alberni business when they stepped up after the tragic discovery of the remains of 215 children found at Kamloops Residential school.
On Monday May 31st Cloud City announced that instead of closing the store, out of respect for the children they would donate 100% of proceeds to those suffering directly or indirectly from the traumas of Residential schools.
The total profit from that day was $2500, which will be donated to a charity recommended by local indigenous leaders. This money will benefit survivors of residential schools and their families.
