It’s full steam ahead towards restoring the historic train station.
Early estimates put the price tag at $590,000, so the city submitted a grant request to the province to cover the cost.
BC replied with an offer of $390,000 to help restore the century-old building.
City Council said even though the project is only partially funded by the province, the city can’t afford to not do the renovation, and they risk losing a sizeable grant.
The remaining $200,000 needed will be applied to next years budget.
