Dirtbike rider airlifted to hospital



One person was airlifted to the hospital following a collision between a dirt bike and a pickup truck on Cherry Creek Road on Saturday.
Cherry Creek Volunteer Fire Department was called to the crash near Owen Road at 3:25 p.m.
The male motorcycle rider was transported to the hospital via air ambulance with serious injuries.
Cherry Creek Road was closed for a few hours afterward for a collision analysis and the incident remains under investigation.

Port Alberni firefighters, ambulance paramedics and police were called out Sunday morning to a rollover of a propane truck on Highway 4 just past Taylor Flats.
There was no propane leaks caused by the crash, and the driver was taken to hospital as a precaution.
The propane was safely transferred to another tanker and the scene was cleared without incident.
