The BC Government is investing $5 million for infrastructure projects in 24 provincial parks.
Macmillan Park, known better as Cathedral Grove, is receiving $150,000 to complete accessibility upgrades.
The park was closed in May, and fences were installed to keep people off of the narrow trails.
According to BC Parks, the project takes advantage of the park closure due to Covid-19, as crews construct a raised boardwalk, which will keep the estimated half million annual visitors off of the trees’ shallow and sensitive roots.
The project is scheduled to be completed by March 31st
