City Council is moving forward to force the clean-up of a pair of notorious apartments.
Victoria’s Martin Chambers owns the Harbourview, and shares ownership of the “ghetto” buildings with Randy Brown.
Chambers had asked council for a 30-day extension on the Harbourview clean-up, but after little progress Mayor Sharie Minions says she doubts new remedial orders will be followed on the 4th Avenue properties.
“Although we did some significant improvement at the Port Pub, we have not seen that same improvement at the Harbourview property and of course the 4th Avenue property does share an owner with the Harbourview property, so I’m not incredibly optimistic that we’re going to get that significant safety improvement that we need to see,” she said.
Minions said she can’t comment on next steps with the Harbourview as the issue will move in-camera.

Can you please not refer as ghetto. It is wintergreen apartments. Please do not tie to harbourview apartments. Chambers has zero to do with managing wintergreen and there aren’t any major safety concerns at wintergreen.
Owner Randy Brown referred to it as the ghetto in his presentation to council, so it’s a direct quote.
