As expected, Josie Osborne won the Mid Island / Pacific Rim Riding.
Osborne, Tofino’s soon-to-be-former Mayor will represent the region in Victoria for the NDP after a comfortable victory in Saturday’s provincial vote.
“I’m so proud of the campaign we ran. I have a terrific team of volunteers and people who have helped me and supported me,” she said. “Clearly people spoke loudly in Mid Island / Pacific Rim and all across BC and I’m really proud of our NDP government.”
Osborne was the first declared victor in the province, as she more than doubled the number of votes for her 4 challengers, capturing 57% of the votes cast Saturday and in the advance polls, with thousands of mail in ballots still to be counted.
