It is with deep sadness that we inform you of the passing of our colleague and friend, Evan Hammond, who passed away on January 2nd, 2026, at the age of 45. Evan was a proud resident of Port Alberni and a dedicated member of the Pattison Media team at 93.3 The Peak for over 22 years. He was known for his commitment, sense of humour, and kindness.  Evan personified being the ‘Sound of the Valley’, as the host of The Peak morning show and the play-by-play voice of the Alberni Valley Bulldogs.  He loved hockey, the players, coaches, and all the personalities around the great game.  His description of a hockey game was second to none.

Evan deeply cared for the Port Alberni community, his family, and the many listeners to The Peak. He has left a lasting impact on all of us and will be sorely missed. Our sincere condolences to his family.  We wish them peace at this very difficult time.
