COVID exposure handled well at ADSS

School District superintendent Greg Smyth says the COVID exposure at ADSS was managed exceptionally well by school staff and Island Health.
Parents of students who could have been exposed to the single COVID case were alerted immediately, and a letter was posted on the district website.
Smyth said while attendance dropped dramatically at the high school after the announcement, the period of quarantine has now passed and no additional cases were reported.
He said they’re monitoring reports of kids taking their masks off on school buses, which is against the rule for riders, and could cost them their bus riding priviledges.
