Each party will bear their costs in the case of Candice Servatius versus School District #70.
Justice Douglas Thompson ruled neither side will have to pay the others costs for the week-long Supreme Court case held in Nanaimo last November.
Thompson ruled against Servatius in January, and dismissed charges that a First Nations smudging ceremony in a John Howitt Elementary School classroom infringed on her children’s religious freedoms.
School District Superintendant Greg Smyth said their costs are covered by a provincial government fund.
Servatius has been supported by the Calgary-based Justice Centre for Constitutional Freedoms, who have said they will be appealing the decision.
