School’s out for COVID

Students were supposed to return to school today after Spring Break, but that break is now indefinite.
In a letter from School District Superintendent Greg Smyth, he advised parents that the government has indefinitely suspended in-class instruction, meaning that children will remain at home until further notice.
In place of in-class instruction, government has directed school districts to explore continuity of learning and to consider ways to support parents who are essential service workers by government.
Smyth said students won’t return to school until recommended by health experts, and the current trajectory of the COVID-19 virus and experiences from other counties, suggests that students will remain out of schools for a longer rather than shorter period of time.
