Malware cuts paper production

The paper mill has been mysteriously quiet for the past two days, after a malware attack on the company’s computers.
The hack was spotted Wednesday morning, locking up company communications and some machines.
The cyber-attack hit Paper Excellence’s corporate office in Richmond, it’s pulp mill in Howe Sound, and paper production facilities in Port Alberni, Powell River, and Crofton.
A news release posted on the companies website confirms that paper production has been affected, and could delay some orders.
The IT systems at each of the company’s facilities have been isolated, and outside experts have been brought in to bring the mills back to full production.
