Former Hupacasath Chief Councillor Steven Tatoosh was charged with Break and Enter and three counts of Possession of Stolen Property after being found inside an 8th Avenue garage on Tuesday night.
The owner of the garage called police after seeing the door open, and someone with a flashlight moving around inside.
Police arrested the 42-year old Tatoosh inside the garage, and say they found him with property belonging to at least two other people, including a wallet stolen from an unlocked car on 6th Avenue that had been reported earlier in the day.
Tatoosh appeared briefly in court on Wednesday and was granted bail. He will appear in court again on February 19th.
