The Alberni Valley Chamber of Commerce will take over operation of the non-historical zone at McLean Mill.
They will be given a budget of $150,000 this year to manage the visitors centre, gift shop, office, courtyard and parking lot.
The Chamber will add a 10% hertiage fee to any sale or rental fee which will go back to the city, who will continue to take care of the rest of the site.
City workers recently replaced the roofs on three mill buildings and restored the doors on the old garage.
