Traffic improvements in Cathedral Grove continue to inch forward.
Janelle Staite, regional Deputy Director for the Ministry of Transportation says they’ve narrowed down recommendations from the public engagement sessions and will put them through engineering and cost studies.
She said one of the main suggestions was to put a cement divider in place to keep drivers from turning in front of oncoming cars, which would then require other infrastructure to be built
Staites said the big ticket projects they’ll be looking at include a pedestrian overpass, and u-turn areas at both ends of the park.
She said provincial planners are dedicted to making the improvements without cutting down any old-growth trees in the park that attracts more than 500,000 visitors each year.
