School District Superintendant Greg Smyth says the Board of Education has not formally taken a position on the Global Climate Strike scheduled for tomorrow, but any activity involving students missing classes must be with the informed consent of the parents.
ADSS’s Social Justice class has organized a lunch-time information walk for tomorrow, which Smyth said is not a strike or walkout but a demonstration on student time.
Climate change and environmental issues are now part of the school curriculum in BC.
Climate strikes are planned across the globe on Friday, recognizing a movement launched by Swedish climate change campaigner Greta Toonberg.
The ADSS information walk takes place from 10:50 until 11:10 tomorrow.
