A Port Alberni woman remains in jail after allegedly trying to rob an 85-year old man in a wheelchair a week ago.
Police have just released details of the incident, which happened last Thursday at 4th and Mar.
According to a news release, several witnesses reported that an elderly man in a wheel chair was being assaulted by a woman who was attempting to steal his wallet.
The man fought off the attack and called out for help which alerted people nearby to call police.
The woman fled the area on foot after stealing personal belongings from the man, but was arrested by police a short distance away.
29 year old Tashina Aday was arrested and charged with Robbery, Assault and Breach of Probation.
