A banner year for Robertson Creek chinook salmon returns.
130,000 chinook are expected to return this year, and First Nations and recreational anglers have started landing the large salmon.
113 chinook have already been counted at Stamp Falls, and 200 coho were enumerated at Sproat Lake and Stamp Falls counters.
A catch estimate and commercial fishing plan will be announced later this week.
The season was not nearly as good for Somass sockeye this year, as only 125,000 went through the counters.
