For the second time in as many weeks, Judge Alexander Wolf has refused the recommendations of lawyers, and imposed stiffer penalties than recommended.
Yesterday, lawyers submitted a joint submission that Aaron Willier receive a sentence of time served plus 2-years probation for choking his girlfriend on the May long-weekend.
Wolf said he had difficulty with the deal, and made part of the probation a conditional sentence order to protect the victim, and keep Willier away from drugs and alcohol.
Last week he told lawyers their joint submissions in a dangerous driving case was “too low” and increased the suggested jail time.
