Police are warning against vigilantism after a woman was sent to hospital after confronting a thief.
Late Sunday afternoon Port Alberni RCMP responded to a report of a fight in progress.
According to a press release sent out yesterday, a woman confronted another woman who was taking items from her car. The alleged thief then turned on the car owner and assaulted her. When the victim tried to flee, the thief chased after her and beat her again.
Police arrested the assailant, who had a warrant out for her arrest.
She will remain in custody until her next court appearance on July 31st.
