The manslaughter trial against 23-year old Warren Baader started yesterday.
He cried as the court watched a video of his 8-week old baby, that his girlfriend filmed on the morning of September 2nd, 2016 in their Redford Street apartment.
Yesterday, Kaitlin McMaster said she found Baader in the living room later that day, rocking their daughter’s pale and lifeless body, and then called 9-1-1
Crown prosecutors say the autopsy showed Baby Molly died of blunt force trauma to the back of the head, similar to being deliberately struck against a counter-top.
Baader told police he accidentally dropped the baby, then shook her when she stopped breathing.
Supreme Court Justice Robin Baird will hear from 19 witnesses during the 14-day trial.
McMaster will testify further this morning.
