North Island Film Commissioner Joan Miller spoke to the Alberni Clayoquot Regional District board yesterday after a highly successful 2018.
Miller said 8 different projects were filmed in Port Alberni, Tofino and Ucluelet last year, bringing an economic boost to the area, and benefiting the region well into the future
Miller said the North Island film commission was one of busiest in the province last year, as production companies look to explore outside Vancouver
Last year’s major production was a movie called ‘Come to Daddy’ starring Elijah Wood, which was filmed entirely in Tofino and is starting to be shown at various film festivals around the world.
