While some areas of Vancouver Island are already worried about water levels, Port Alberni’s water shed is in good shape according to Utilities Superintendent Amar Giri.
Bainbridge and Lizard Lake are overflowing, with more than a metre of snow in the surrounding basins.
Giri will presenting a report to city council this afternoon, assuring them the “winter drought” BC Hydro announced last week does not apply to the Alberni Valley watersheds, although they are still closely monitoring them through the Spring.
