Federal MP’s have been burning the midnight oil, after the federal Conservatives launched a marathon voting session in the House of Commons last night.
The procedural move being made over what they say is a Liberal “cover up” of the SNC-Lavalin controversy.
The Conservatives put forward 257 fiscal motions that have to be voted on, after the Liberals voted against a Conservative opposition motion surrounding former Attorney -General Jody Wilson-Raybould and the SNC-Lavalin affair, and MP’s have now been sitting for more than 24 hours straight.
Courtenay – Alberni MP Gord Johns said while he didn’t like the behaviour demonstrated by the Conservatives on Tuesday, he does support respectfully using all Parliamentary tools, like forcing multiple votes on estimates, to pressure the government to come clean on concerns about the potential political interference in the justice system.
