A pair of Port Alberni homes could soon be bulldozed unless their owners finally respond to city concerns.
Steven Boden’s building at 4781 Margaret Street has accumulated $3300 in bylaw infractions and $3500 in city clean-up costs, and after squatters caused a fire on March 2nd, the city is now demanding the building be demolished.
City bylaw services manager Flynn Scott says Lori Strickland also rebuffed $2500 in tickets and $5000 in clean-up costs for her house at 2808 10th Avenue.
Both owners were given dates to either appeal the city’s decision or remediate their properties before their buildings are bulldozed, and the costs added to their taxes.
