Port Alberni’s New Years Baby arrived at 3:31 yesterday afternoon.
Beckett William Dhillon was born to parents Courtney and Troy and is their first child.
He is 7 lbs. 1 oz, 20 1/2 inches long, and according to Island Health spokesperson Meribeth Burton has a shock of dark hair and looks “sweet and wise”.
Mother Courtney was in labour for 13 hours but is in great spirits and resting.
B-C’s first baby was born a minute past midnight at Royal Columbian Hospital in New Westminster.
Vancouver Island’s first baby was born 41-minutes later at Victoria General Hospital.
