Lines touch causing outage

An over-height truck is suspected to have caused a valley-wide power outage this morning.

According to BC Hydro and firefighters, cable and phone lines came in contact with a power line causing a short. That short then caused a fault at the substation, knocking out power for 5 seconds before coming back on.

The incident occurred at approximately 6:40 am, and ripped a power box from the side of a home at Johnston & Johns Street.
