Alleged murder plot revealed

Chilling testimony from a member of the so-called Wolf Pack who was sentenced in Port Alberni law courts yesterday.
44-year old Anthony Almeida was charged with kidnapping, extortion, unlawful confinement and uttering threats
He told police how members of the WolfPack had grabbed a man they accused of sexually assaulting children and kept him captive, regularly beating him over a period of days.
Almeida testified that he and another gang member took the victim to Sarita Bay where they intended to kill him and throw him into the ocean in a crab trap.
Almeida said he lost interest in being part of the murder and scuffled with his partner.
Judge Ronald Lamperson agreed that Almeida likely prevented a man’s death, and sentenced him to time served of 273 days.
Six other members of the Wolf Pack have yet to have their charges heard in court.
