More than a hundred people in Port Alberni were greeted with sunshine and cool temperatures of two degrees as they ran into the Inlet for the annual PEAK polar bear swim.
The Kinsmen won the best team award and are exhuberant participants every year, while Leanne Capperson won best costume after taking the plunge wearing a wedding dress, and Bette Hanson won the Jim Rutherford Memorial Award as the oldest swimmer at 75 years young.
