A 26-year old Port Alberni man was sentenced to 9 months jail yesterday, after pleading guilty to trafficking cocaine.
Christopher Skirrow was found with 8 ounces of cocaine in July of last year, after police followed him as part of a dial-a-dope investigation.
Judge Doug Cowling said the $20,000 worth of drugs was a substantial amount, and indicated Skirrow was a mid-level dealer who had worked his way up the drug-dealing ladder.
Skirrow admitted he was addicted to cocaine at the time, and told the court he wants to put drugs in the past.
The court ordered his Chevrolet S.U.V. and other possessions used in the commission of crime be forfeited to the crown.
