The Bulldogs lost back to back games on home ice over the weekend.

They fell 4-2 to the Victoria Grizzlies on Friday night. Kye Benoche and Wyatt Davis scored.

 

They lost 3-2 at home to the Coquitlam Express on Saturday night. Wyatt Davis and Brandon Gill had the goals.

The Bulldogs have two games left before their Christmas break – Friday they visit the Clippers in Nanaimo, and Saturday they host the Powell River Kings at the Multiplex.

 

 

The Port Alberni Bombers rallied from a 3-1 third period deficit Sundaynight on home ice, but fell 4-3 in overtime to the Nanaimo Buccaneers. McCall Nault, Ethan Unger and Chase Pouchnik scored, while Ryan Burroughs made 66 saves in net.

 

The Bombers host the Comox Valley Glacier Kings Wednesday night.

 

 

ADSS Wrestlers Dominate at 2025 QMS Christmas Classic

The Alberni District Secondary School (ADSS) wrestling team delivered a commanding performance at the 2025 QMS Christmas Classic, earning multiple individual titles and placing at or near the top in every team division. Competing against strong programs from across Vancouver Island and the Lower Mainland, ADSS wrestlers once again demonstrated why the program remains one of the province’s elite.

Olivia Olsen, Janna Hiltz, Kane Olsen, Rain Olsen, Grady Miller

Team Success Across All Divisions
In addition to the strong individual results, ADSS delivered a standout performance in the team standings—finishing first in both the combined Junior Male & Female division and the combined Senior Male & Female division. These results reflect the program’s depth and balanced strength across all weight classes and age groups.
ADSS Coach Chris Bodnar added, “Although it’s early in the season, the athletes showed that they’ve been working hard to be ready for whatever the season has to come.”
The Alberni Valley Wrestling junior club program, also had a remarkable weekend—winning both the Elementary Boys and Elementary Girls team titles for the second year in a row. Their success further highlights the strength of the developmental pipeline feeding into the ADSS program.

The future of ADSS Wrestling looks incredibly bright thanks to the strong foundation being built at the grassroots level. “Our junior club program continues to do an exceptional job preparing young athletes for success,” the ADSS coaches added. “Their results show that the next generation of ADSS wrestlers is already making a name for themselves.”
