Rash of MVIs on Sunday

A series of motor vehicle incidents kept local police busy yesterday.
A car was impounded on Stamp Avenue after being caught doing 97 kmh in a 50 zone, while at the same time officers were called about a car driving through the front doors of Canadian Tire and arrested a suspected drug impaired driver.
Minutes later a 40 year old woman was charged with drunk driving after hitting a parked car on 9th avenue.
Within 30 minutes after the first call, officers were called to assist a female that was struck by a vehicle on the Redford extension.
Investigators say the suspect vehicle – described only as a “smaller car” – fled the scene along with a white SUV, with neither vehicle stopping to check on the victim who was taken to hospital with minor injuries.
In all, 4 traffic calls resulted in 3 vehicles being impounded and police searching for 2 others.
