Port Alberni firefighters were called to Bishop Crecent on Sunday morning for a reported chimney fire.
When they arrived the fire had been upgraded to a structure fire as crews arrived to heavy smoke and large flames from the second storey.
Fire Chief Mike Owens.says about a dozen firefighters responded, and crews from the Cherry Creek Volunteer Fire Department also provided mutual aid.
No one was home at the time of the fire, and investigators will try to determine the cause today.
