PEAK Fishing Report:
It’s a banner year for Chinook salmon with 114,000 expected to return, with the bulk of fishing happening within the next few weeks.
In the Inlet, most anglers are trolling between Pollys Point and China Creek using pink hootchies, white hootchies or bait anywhere down to 80′
In the Sound, Assits Island has picked up along with Pill Point, Diplock, Swale Rock and the Bamfield Wall.
Colby from Gone Fishin’ says the bait size is smaller in those areas so he recommends white hootchies, bait, or smaller spoons down to 100′
Most fish are in the 10 to 16 lb range, but there have been a few in the high 20’s and low 30’s.
