Highway 4 reopens

Highway 4 has been RE-OPENED after 16 days of being closed.

The Ministry of Transportation posted the notice on their website at 1:15 this afternoon, declaring the limited opening.

This 2 kilometre section of the highway along Cameron Lake has been reduced to single, lane alternating traffic, and line-ups are expected on either side.

According to the Ministry, oversize commercial vehicles will not be able to pass.

The detour route on the Bamfield Main will remain open until the highway is restored to regular capacity, which is predicted to be mid-July.
